Poha Panchakajjaya (With Sugarcane)

Hi everyone,

I had already shown earlier how to make Poha Panchakajjaya in my previous post,

This time, there is a slight variation. Last time I did not add Sugarcane, but now I have. As it is for Naivedya (Offering to God) this time, I refrained from adding Cardamom powder as my mother said it is not to be added in Naivedya. So here is the second attempt of the same recipe again with slight changes.

List of ingredients.

INGREDIENTS :

(1) Poha / Pressed rice - 1 cup
(2) Phula hua dhan / Puffed paddy - 1 cup
(3) Freshly Grated Coconut - 3/4 cup
(4) Jaggery/Gud - 75 gms - half cup
(5) Black Sesame Seeds / Til - 1 teaspoon
(6) Cardamom / Elaichi powder - half teaspoon (Optional, I did not add this as it is a practice in my house not to add this while making as naivedya)
(7) Ghee - 1 teaspoon
(8) Sugar cane pieces (Optional) - Handful

Here is the pictures of the ingredients used.

Poha / Beaten rice

Phula hua dhan / Puffed Paddy

Grated Jaggery

Black Sesame Seeds

Sugarcane

All ingredients set together for the preparation of Poha Panchakajjaya

METHOD :
(1) Clean and sieve beaten rice well so that any powder or dust is removed.
(2) Clean and roast black sesame seed till you get a nice aroma.

(3) Grate coconut and Jaggery.
(4) Take a deep vessel, add grated Coconut, Jaggery, and mix well until soft mixture is formed.
